Mazda 3 Newest More Save Fuel

Japanese car manufacturer, Mazda, Mazda 3 is rumored to have introduced the latest in carpet New York Auto Show which took place on 22 April to 1 May 2011.

Mazda says this car has undergone some changes so that makes it much different than its predecessor. Changes not only occur in ekserior, and interio, but also the engine that is now more fuel efficient because it uses technology SkyActive.

As reported by Topspeed, Mazda has adopted a new machine-Drive SkyActive made of aluminum metal on the car.
The new engine is claimed to be the first time applied in North America, with technology SKYACTIV Mazda3 fuel consumption can be more economical to 17%, and allowing only drank 1 liter of fuel to travel 18 km.

"SKYACTIV is the philosophy of engineering vehicles that are not only fun to drive, but also satisfied and environmentally responsible, as well as superior in terms of efficiency," said Jim O Sullivan, President and CEO, Mazda North America.

Using the 2.0-liter engine that has been redesigned, the Mazda 3 SkyActive has power of 155 HP at 6,000 rpm and torque of 148 lb-ft at 4100 rpm. The machine will be mated with a six-speed manual transmission SKYACTIV or SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic as optional.

In addition to the 2.0L engine, Mazda will also offer 2.5-liter MZR engine that can provide a total power up to 167 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 168 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. When equipped with six-speed manual transmission, this engine can provide the fuel consumption of 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

Meanwhile, when equipped with five-speed automatic gearbox is electronically controlled, this car will have a fuel consumption as much as 22 mpg.

For the price, the Mazda has not revealed it further. But many think that with this new SKYACTIV system, the price of the Mazda 3 will be up slightly from a starting price of USD15.800 for the four-door danUSD20.045 for five-door versions.
